Together, we’ll go through a rewarding process
When you let our MonkeyMinds team work on your website, this is the approach we follow.
Preparation
In this phase, we prepare for our collaboration. A good start is half the work, so it's worth taking the time to do it right! This process consists of seven steps, which are explained in more detail below.
Second Development Phase
The second development phase is where it all comes together. We implement your feedback and carry out a pre-launch review. At this point, your website is ready to be thoroughly tested. This phase consists of two steps, which are explained in more detail below.
Project Kick-off
After the preparation phase, we get started for real. Thanks to the work we've done in the first phase, there won't be any unexpected surprises along the way. This kick-off phase consists of seven steps, which are explained in more detail below.
Launch Phase
During the launch phase, we test and fine-tune your website to ensure everything works as it should. Once everything is ready, we launch your site so the world can discover your products and services. This phase consists of five steps, which are explained in more detail below.
First Development Phase
The project is underway, and the Monkeys get to do what they do best—building great things! By the end of this development phase, your website will be largely complete. This phase consists of two steps, which are explained in more detail below.

Our Mission
We tame the Monkey Mind for you!
The Monkey Mind is a concept from Buddhism that represents our subconscious mind. It's the little monkey in our heads that's constantly jumping from thought to thought, always reacting and forming opinions.
By calming this invisible monkey, we create a more focused and effortless experience for your website visitors. Through research and data, we understand what captures their attention and what causes distraction—allowing us to quiet the Monkey Mind and guide visitors toward taking action.
A Good Start Is Half the Work
Preparation Phase
1. Gathering Your Information
To get started, we record your basic details in our system. This includes information such as:
- Company details (name, address, registration information)
- Contact details (phone numbers, email addresses, etc.)
2. Welcome Aboard
You’ll receive a welcome email containing answers to common questions that often come up during a project. In this email, you can expect:
- A brief introduction to Monkey Mind Studios
- Links to helpful articles (including this onboarding guide)
- Examples of recent projects our Monkey Minders have worked on
- Confirmation of our first meeting
- A link to a questionnaire that helps us prepare for our initial consultation based on your answers
3. Initial Consultation
During our first meeting, we’ll get to know each other better and discuss your goals, requirements, and expectations. This session typically lasts around 90 minutes, depending on the size and complexity of your project.
We’ll go through your questionnaire together and explore how Monkey Mind Studios can approach your project. The aim is to build a solid understanding of one another, so expect plenty of questions from both sides.
Topics we’ll cover include:
- Your target audience, market, and competitors
- Your business goals and project objectives
- The features and functionality you’d like your website to include
- Technical requirements (hosting, email, content, photos, videos, etc.)
- A preliminary project timeline with key milestones (research, concept, delivery, etc.)
- The number of revision rounds (typically one) and any post-launch support you may require
- Future services such as marketing, SEO, website maintenance, copywriting, banners, advertising, and more
4. Brief & Roadmap
After our meeting, we’ll send you a project brief outlining the agreed direction in one or two pages. This document is based on everything we’ve discussed and serves as the roadmap for the entire project.
5. Proposal, Contract & NDA
You’ll receive the proposal, contract, and, if applicable, a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) for signature. Once these documents have been signed, the project is officially underway.
6. Initial Invoice
Once both parties have signed the documents, we’ll send you the invoice for the initial deposit, which is 50% of the total project fee. As soon as payment has been received, our Monkey Minders get to work.
7. Providing Resources & Access
To ensure we can work as efficiently as possible, we’ll ask you to provide the materials and access we need before development begins. Depending on your project, this may include:
- Your brand guidelines (fonts, colour codes, etc.)
- Logo files in .AI or .EPS format
- Existing content (text, images, videos, etc.)
- Administrator access to your social media accounts
- Access to Google Analytics and Google Search Console
- Access to any third-party software or platforms required for the project

Project Kick-off
8. Project Kick-off Email
We’ll send you an email confirming that your project has officially begun. This email also includes links to the relevant documents and resources you’ll need throughout the project.
9. Internal Briefing & Task Allocation
Our team of Monkey Minders is briefed using your questionnaire responses and the project documentation. We then assign responsibilities within the team, ensuring everyone knows their role. Throughout this process, we work closely with you to keep everything aligned with your goals.
10. Competitor Research
To better understand your market, we analyse your competitors. We look at the strategies they use, evaluate their marketing efforts, and compare their unique selling points (USPs) with yours. This helps us identify opportunities to make your website stand out.
11. Defining Your Target Audience
We want your website to resonate with the people who matter most—your customers. That’s why we take the time to define your target audience. These insights not only shape your website but also provide a solid foundation for future marketing campaigns.
12. Inspiration & Examples
Based on everything we’ve learned so far, we’ll present a selection of websites and design examples that we believe suit your project. Together, we’ll review these examples to determine the direction that best matches your brand and objectives.
13. Initial Concept, Structure & Layout
Next, we create the first wireframe to give you a clear idea of our vision for your website. At this stage, we use placeholder text and images, but it provides a realistic impression of the overall structure, layout, and user experience.
14. Approval of the Initial Wireframe
Once the wireframe has been approved, we move on to the First Development Phase—where the real fun begins!
Together, We Create Great Things!
First Development Phase
15. First Design & Development Round
Now it’s time to start building! During this phase, we turn the approved concept into a fully functioning website. We’ll stay in regular contact to discuss new ideas, content, and any other project updates. By the end of this stage, the website will be largely built and beginning to take its final shape.
16. Review & Feedback
Once the website is nearly complete, we’ll schedule a call to review it together. We’ll provide you with a clear overview of anything we still need from you, such as photos, page content, or other assets.
You’ll then have the opportunity to explore the website in detail and let us know if there are any changes or improvements you’d like us to make before moving on to the next phase
No Monkey Business… Or Maybe Just a Little 😉
Second Development Phase
17. Second Development Round
We’ll implement your feedback and any additional requests to refine the website into its final form. Any photos, text, and other content you’ve provided will be added, and we’ll put the finishing touches on every detail to ensure everything is just right.
18. Final Review & Feedback
To make sure you’re completely satisfied, we’ll schedule a second review call. This is your opportunity to share any final comments or request last adjustments.
Once these changes have been completed, we’ll move on to the Launch Phase.
the monkeys go wild!
Launch Phase
19. Connecting Integrations
Now that your website is complete, we’ll connect all the agreed third-party platforms and services, such as your social media channels, analytics tools, and any other required integrations.
20. Time to Test
Our Monkey Mind testers put the website through its paces to make sure everything works perfectly. We check, among other things:
- Mobile responsiveness across different devices
- Typography, colours, and visual consistency
- Buttons, navigation, and internal links
- Contact forms and email functionality
- Overall performance and usability
- And much more
21. Approval, Final Invoice & Launch
Your website is now complete and ready to go live. We’ll send the final invoice for the remaining balance of the project. Once payment has been received, we’ll launch your website and make it available to the world.
22. Project Review
We believe that clear communication includes reflecting on the process. After launch, we’ll send you a short questionnaire asking for feedback on your experience working with us.
Your honest feedback helps us continue improving and ensures our Monkey Minds keep delivering even better projects in the future.
23. The Next Chapter
Your website is live—now it’s time to attract visitors!
As you’ve seen throughout the project, launching your website is just the beginning. Keeping it secure, up to date, and performing at its best is just as important as building it. Whether it’s maintenance, marketing, SEO, or ongoing optimisation, we’re here to help you continue growing long after launch.
